FPGSPC Holds Meeting at Little River Farm
The membership of the FPGSPC met Saturday night, during the 2-day GSPCA-sanctioned water-test weekend at Little River Farm. In conjunction with the water testing, the Club held a Snake-Proofing Clinic conducted by Dr. Bud Calderwood, DVM.
The Club oversaw the snake-proofing of over 50 dogs, both members' GSPs and many others. The GSP-only water test saw all three levels tested on Saturday, RDX, RD, and NRD, and Sunday followed with the testing of RD and NRD dogs. There were many dogs qualified this weekend, including Jim Eustace's "Q" and Steve Gregor's "Cooper" who both earned their RDX ratings. Congratulations Jim and Steve, as well as our other qualifiers this weekend. A full list will be posted.
A picnic lunch was served at the Little River Farms cabin at the conclusion of the testing and snake clinic. A heavy downpour in the afternoon put an end to the day's fishing, but not to the Club's evening agenda, which began with a wonderful dinner prepared be Vern and Betsy Phillips (and company). In addition to raiding the fridge for leftovers, Vern grilled the day's take of quail.
The Club's meeting was held after dinner. Meeting minutes will be posted ASAP!
