Dear Board Members...

Except for Mike, who doesn't have email, I have tuned blogger to send each board member an email when something is posted to the site. I hope that meets with everyone's approval. I did it, not to pester y'all, but to encourage your feedback on the site. For instance, if I make a mistake or need more information, you can help!

If you would prefer not to receive a notification, or if you want me to send it to another email address, please let me know, and I'll make the necessary adjustments.

Thanks!

Please Send Material to Post!

Welcome! In addition to calendar events, photos, and club news, I'd like to post brags, member news and anything else you'd like to see here. This is a very flexible format, and there are no limitations as to what we can put here. Bookmark this location and check back often! I look forward to your feedback. Let me know what you think.

Meeting Minutes: September 6, 2008

There was no board meeting, but the minutes from the regular meeting are here. Please note election of new officers.

More From the Water Test Weekend

I know that there were members and friends of the FPGSPC who took pictures this weekend, but I don't have them yet. What I do have are a few pictures I took with my phone.

Here are Riley and Siri, ready to go. Sadly, Siri didn't qualify in NRD (despite 2 attempts), but both dogs had a blast swimming and fetching dummies from the lake. On the other hand, neither of my dogs would go anywhere near the snakes, so they didn't receive jolts from the shock collar that left some dogs really shaken up! For their own good, of course!

Also, Vern and Betsy brought their Hunter 26 -- launched it in the lake and spent the weekend (reasonably) comfortable. Traveller and Roxie were also aboard! This is a whole new twist on staying at Little River Farm -- and the only way I know to guarantee a level campsite!

FPGSPC Holds Meeting at Little River Farm

The membership of the FPGSPC met Saturday night, during the 2-day GSPCA-sanctioned water-test weekend at Little River Farm. In conjunction with the water testing, the Club held a Snake-Proofing Clinic conducted by Dr. Bud Calderwood, DVM.

The Club oversaw the snake-proofing of over 50 dogs, both members' GSPs and many others. The GSP-only water test saw all three levels tested on Saturday, RDX, RD, and NRD, and Sunday followed with the testing of RD and NRD dogs. There were many dogs qualified this weekend, including Jim Eustace's "Q" and Steve Gregor's "Cooper" who both earned their RDX ratings. Congratulations Jim and Steve, as well as our other qualifiers this weekend. A full list will be posted.

A picnic lunch was served at the Little River Farms cabin at the conclusion of the testing and snake clinic. A heavy downpour in the afternoon put an end to the day's fishing, but not to the Club's evening agenda, which began with a wonderful dinner prepared be Vern and Betsy Phillips (and company). In addition to raiding the fridge for leftovers, Vern grilled the day's take of quail.

The Club's meeting was held after dinner. Meeting minutes will be posted ASAP!
